Have you …well, never liked a photo of yourself? Believe it or not, “I never like photos of myself” is one of the most common things we hear when people come into our studio. I’m so proud of our photographers for never being afraid of that … our proprietary system we use when photographing leaves us with no fear when photographing people who usually dislike being photographed.

Meet Lila Fox.
Even before we met Lila Fox, owner of Lila Fox Travel, we knew she did cool things: luxury travel consultant, certified nutritionist, photographer, certified yoga teacher. She’s been named an industry trendsetter by Luxury Travel Advisor Magazine as well as one of the South’s most stylish by Southern Living magazine. So when Lila came to Denver Headshot Co for updated headshots and branding photos, we jumped at the challenge to craft a cohesive yet diverse collection of images for such a dynamic human. Spoiler: she was even cooler in person than we predicted her to be.
Client Goals: Lila wanted her images to capture her unique personality while matching the luxury feel of her business. She needed images that looked just as strong in black and white as they did in color.
Photographer’s Creative Vision: This session was an opportunity for her photographer, Andrew, to really think outside of the box. Andrew knew right away that strong visual contrast – using her outfits, the background, and our lighting – would be key to meeting her goals. He also drew inspiration from Rembrandt’s lighting style to highlight her facial features and create soft and subtle shadows. This classic style of lighting accentuates dimples, smile lines, and the little imperfections that showcase a client’s unique features. A perfect match for the bold, confident Lila.
