Hi, Jackie here, founder and owner of Denver Headshot Co. Last year, I set a big goal for my company – to become a certified Woman-Owned Business through the Women’s Business Enterprises National Council (WBENC). The WBENC certification is widely considered THE gold standard certification of its kind in the US, and the application process is extensive to say the least! Paperwork and interviews, site visits and analysis of financial and operation records…they are thorough!

And now…drumroll, please…I’m proud to announce that, after nearly a year-long process, we are now an official WBENC Certified Woman-Owned Business! (a Women’s Business Enterprise, in official terms). This means that DHC is “a business that has gone through a rigorous and stringent certification process to confirm the business is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman or women.”

As a business founder and owner, an employer of 10 staff members, and a mom of 4, I’m so dang proud of this accomplishment. I believe that the business landscape thrives when women are strong and successful. I also believe that women bring a unique perspective to the commercial sector, one that needs to be supported, fostered, and celebrated.
